Van dichter tot kopiist. Een dialectgeografisch onderzoek
Abstract - The author of the rhymed chronicle Van den derden Eduwaert
(ca. 1350) says he lives in Antwerp; the scribe of the manuscript is supposed
te be from Brussels. However, a number of disturbed rhymes can be explained
only by assuming the presence of a more northern copyist. Moreover, verse
internally northern forms appear beside Brabantish ones. With the help
of the 'Onderzoeksprogramma Corpusgebaseerde Woordanalyse Vulet 88/9' the
presence of a a Hollandish stratum has been made probable. Therefore, the
possibility that many other texts that have been handed down comprise more
than two layers, deserves serious investigation.
