Abstract - The Middle Dutch 'farce of Rubben' is a small play, handed down to us in the 'Hulthem manuscript'. After three months of marriage a woman gives birth to a full-term baby. Her mother makes the young husband believe that he has been married for three times three months; so he must be the father of the child. The drift of the story is clear, but many details are indistinct or peculiar. The text seems to contain many corruptions and modifications. In this article some false figures are put right again.
