Het metrum in de gedichten van de Gentse Boethiusvertaling uit 1485. Een evaluatie van een methode
Abstract - The 39 poems in the Medieval Dutch translation of Boethius'
De consolatione philosophiae of 1485 are examined for their (jambic)
metre, by using the method of Halle & Keyser (1971). Ten percent of
the verses turned out not to fit in the jambic pattern. That is considerably
more compared with other Medieval Dutch poems. It can be concluded that
this Dutch translation of the Consolatio is not jambic, but isosyllabic.
Finally, the method of Halle and Keyser is criticized and suggestions to
improve this method are added.
