Abstract - Recently it has become clear which edition of Plautus' Aulularia P.C. Hooft used when he adapted this Latin play into the Dutch comedy Warenar (1617). This article examines the question of which elements in the commentary of this Aulularia edition may have affected the creation of the Dutch verses.
