Simon Stevin als bron voor Kiliaan
Abstract - At the end of the sixteenth century the scientist Simon
Stevin and the lexicographer Cornelis Kiliaan were most deserving in their
efforts for the study of Dutch vocabulary. Up to now one thought, without
a serious investigation, that the scientific works of Stevin had not been
used by Kiliaan as sources for his dictionary. However, an exhaustive examination
of words which were recorded by Stevin for the first time, demonstrates
that Kiliaan has actually taken over several words from Stevin.
