Boendales Jans teesteye. Een structurele analyse
Abstract - This article focuses on the structure of the early forteenth
century dialogue Jans teesteye (John's convictions), written
by the Antwerp town clerk Jan van Boendale. Attention is mainly paid to
the modelling of the text into a comprehensible, convincing and aesthetically
attractive whole. Passages borrowed from Jacob van Maerlant's Wapene
Martijn (Alas Martin) which to some extent served as a model
for Boendale's text, are also briefly discussed.
