Walewein goes international

Abstract - Now that an English translation of the Middle Dutch Roman van Walewein has been provided by David F. Johnson, the editors of TNTL have invited three foreign Arthurian specialists, Norris J. Lacy, Felicity Riddy, and Walter Haug, to give their views on the Middle Dutch romance. Their articles have appeared in preceding issues of this periodical. The author of the present article discusses their contributions to the debate on the Middle Dutch romance. The article ends on a plea in favour of making Middle Dutch texts more accessible to foreign scholars.
