De Nederduitsche spraekkunst (1764) van Frans de Haes

Abstract -- In 1764 the Nederduitsche spraekkunst of Frans de Haes (1708-1761) was published posthumously. This grammatical treatise is totally traditional, so it seems. This article considers the way in which De Haes used his sources, and shows that his view of the concept of 'case' comes near to our idea of 'part of the sentence'. Also it will be shown that it is very plausible that De Haes is the author of Korte verklaring over de zelfstandige naemvallen, anonymously published in 1736.
