Het Deltaplan in de literatuurgeschiedenis. Naar aanleiding van de verschijning van een nieuwe klassiekenreeks
Abstract -- This article, inspired by the appearence of a new series of classics (Delta), discusses series that have been published in the Netherlands from 1819 up till now. The author argues that series of classics are influenced by the functions they are assumed to have in society. In the nineteenth century the classics confirmed the nation's own tradition, for instance. Nowadays the publication of a new series of classics seems to be part of the ritual with which each new generation of literary historians legitimizes itself.
