Writing Late-Medieval Women and Song into Literary History

Abstract -- The connection between women and song in the late-medieval period is often made but has not been systematically explored. This article establishes a framework for such an exploration by outlining the issues to be addressed, summarizing the kind of information yielded by the sources, and illustrating the perspectives conducive to making the most of such information.
