'Van Weenen begint voor mij de victorie'
Frederik van Eedens contacten met Oostenrijk en de Oostenrijkse literatuur
Abstract -- Frederik van Eeden had a lot of contacts with foreigners. This essay focuses on his relationship with Austrian writers, his reactions on Austrian literature and the reception of his work in Austria. Thanks to the efforts of people like Otto Hauser and Hugo Heller Van Eeden was quite popular in Vienna during the first quarter of the twentieth century. Unfortunately only fragments of the correspondence between Van Eeden and Andreas Latzko, Stefan Zweig, Rainer Maria Rilke and other Austrians have been handed down. Therefore the following essay has to be considered as a modest contribution to further research on the relationship of Van Eeden with Austria.
