Wiel KustersTussen bijbel en biologie. Een lectuur van A. Koolhaas’ spel Noach (1970) Abstract -- In 1970 the Dutch writer and theatre critic A. Koolhaas (1912-1992) published a play, Noach, which was based on the biblical story about the flood. Contrary to his animal stories and novels, Koolhaas’ theatre plays have hardly received any attention from literary critics and literary historians, while for the author himself the theatre was his greatest passion. This article offers an analysis and interpretation of Noach, focusing on its acerbic criticism of the biblical story and the biologically and ecologically inspired elements of the play. As I shall point out, these two dimensions are closely interconnected. TNTL 120-2 (juni 2004), 143-154 | ||||||||||
