G.G. Kloeke als mediëvist
Abstract -- Apart from being a linguist Kloeke was also a researcher of Middle Dutch literature. This contribution not only gives an overview of what he has written on the subject, it also evaluates its relevance for present-day research. Kloeke can be called a father of modern textual criticism. His greatest merit, however, is in the field of stylistics. His findings on the subject may well become a point of departure for renewed investigation of the prosody of Middle Dutch narrative poems.
