The Portal to Middle Dutch Literature: pleidooi voor een Engelstalig Verfasserlexikon over de Middelnederlandse literatuur
Abstract -- This article discusses the internationalization of medieval Dutch scholarship. Netherlandists readily incorporate international insights into their own research and contribute to the visibility of Middle Dutch literature among non-Netherlandists. However, they are reluctant to participate in international methodological discussions. Moreover, they fail to make Middle Dutch literature systematically, thoroughly and fully accessible to the international community. In order to rectify the last of these omissions, the author proposes to create an electronic English-language Portal to Middle Dutch Literature. He argues that the Verfasserlexikon can serve as a model for the layout of the new resource centre.
