Middlebrow en modernisme. Een inleiding
Abstract -- This introduction to a series of three articles aims to make the concept of the middlebrow operational for the study of literature in the Netherlands and Flanders (1914-1940). Starting from a brief review of relevant British and American research on the topic, and touching on the sociology of Pierre Bourdieu, the authors sketch a framework for the study of middlebrow criticism and fiction in Dutch.
